Busy!

We've been really busy lately.  Bought a car, truck, and boat.  Had a little work to do on the truck and boat.   Nothing major but took the better part of a full work day.  Also went to New Orleans for 4 days, which was fun.  We've harvested string beans from our garden twice now, enough to feed our family of four each time (with some leftovers).  Basil and rosemary are coming in real nice as well.  We have lots of tomatoes coming in, corn is doing well, pumpkins are starting to grow, and its our best year for apples so far.  We've been picking the ones that have fallen to the ground to just eat.  The remaining apples we will harvest in mid-July.  We'll have enough for at least 5 or 6 pies this year.  We're still waiting on the squash to bloom.  Last night I built a birdhouse outta some scrap wood.  It turned out okay for only 30 mins or work.  I wanna build some more stuff to put in the garden.  We had another tree fall on our shed unfortunately.  I've done some chainsaw work because I know I need to do it now to give the wood time to season, but its sure a lot more fun when its 50 degrees outside and not 90, but by then it is too late.  I have plenty for this coming winter, but I have lots of stuff down that needs to be cut and split for 2013....with all our trees and the free firewood I come across I never really catch up.  A few weeks ago I did take the opportunity to pressure wash and stain seal the deck, and plant some more grass.  The grass is doing okay, but certainly not thriving.  I also created another bed, transplanted some bushes into it, and wrapped it with stacked stone.  It looks good.  We're thinking of doing some interior work on the house soon.  We'll see how that goes.
