9 January 2011 - Cosgrove Woods

1 mile nighthike by snowlight in the deep dark woods
5th snow of the season
4 inches on the ground and still going strong
24 degrees
heavy, beautiful snow
deer tracks
coyotes howling like crazy

Back from the hike, it doesn't get much better than this.  Snug in the loft with hot cider in hand, watching the snow fall, fall, fall.  Late night hike puts me to bed after midnight, knowing that I don't have to work tomorrow.  I haven't stayed up this late for at least a year.  I was in bed by 11 on New Year's Eve.  But I'm so excited to wake up before the sun to head back out.
